"Make a conscious choice to surround ALL people with love. By putting a smile on your face and greeting someone else with a cheerful, ‘Hi! Glad to see you!’ you can set the tone for your interaction, as well as change your energy and the energy of those around you."

The Purpose Of Life: Live Like You Are Dying, Loving, Accepting And Healing What Is… (#3)

June 22, 2010 · Filed Under Purpose of Life · 1 Comment

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is. I believe in the latter"   ~Albert Einstein

Kristine Carson, wife of Richard Carlson (author of Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff), writes in If You Had An Hour to Live, “Grieving is the ultimate act of love, or, at least, it can be. Love holds all possibilities, and that includes bliss in the face of immeasurable suffering and gain through loss.” Her point is that despite the grief and loss you experience, the quality of your Love determines whether you decide to choose to move into the pain and suffering associated with the darkness of grief – or into the warmth, peace and joy associated with the energy of the loving light.  Your life’s purpose is a function of the choices you make. You are exactly where you are supposed to be because of the choices you make. Again, do your best and choose wisely!

Miracles are occurring all the time and Love is at the heart of miracles, according to the book, A Course in Miracles. Because we vibrate at such a high level energetically, when we choose Love in the form of Kindness and Loving Compassion for both ourselves and others, the body’s the immune system functions better (especially when dealing with a life-threatening illness or a significant loss).  Perhaps this, again, is what motivates Tug McGraw’s character in his popular country song, Live Like You Were Dying, to want to go skydiving, fishing, bull riding and mountain climbing, as well as wishing to practice forgiveness. Loving oneself certainly includes following your hopes, dreams and long-lived passions, without the burden of anger and resentments.

As a researcher of miracles, and one who has witnessed real-life miracles, I have personally seen the stunning consequences, such as remissions and disappearances of different kinds of cancers, in my patients who have chosen to live fully in the moment, while treating themselves and others compassionately and lovingly. By choosing to take the time to become conscious of any thoughts or issues to which you have been attached and then detaching and practicing forgiveness, you shift your energy to a level which feels absolutely wonderful and initiates the release of valuable endorphins which enhance the functioning of your immune system.

Choosing to Face (acknowledge), Embrace (feel) and Replace your uncomfortable feelings such as anger, hurt, resentment, rage and disappointment, with more loving thoughts  enables you to live more freely, without self- criticism or judgment. Miracles have everything to do with you choosing to see a situation or person from a more loving, kind and forgiving perspective. A change in perspective is often considered a miracle! For example, once you recognize that how you choose to think about your Uncle Fred really determines how you feel about him; if you choose to focus on how sweet he is rather than how annoying he can be, you actually feel much better, due to the release of needed endorphins. This is how easy it is!

A hero and mentor of mine, psychologist, scientist, author and survivor of two serious cancers, Paul Pearsall, states in Making Miracles, “Making miracles depends on understanding the profound truth that our perceptions create our reality and that there is always another view of every issue.” By choosing to live like you were dying, that is by detaching from anything that does not feel good and accepting what is, you will find yourself experiencing greater peace, joy and an overall enhanced quality of life. According to Pearsall, “Things-including miracles- do not just happen to us; we make them happen!”This is the power of your mind and your ability to choose to accept what is. This is your healing power!

“Making miracles is a matter of developing vigilance for the miracles all around us. If we are open to the miracles right under our very noses, and if we become miracles observers and unashamed practitioners of miracology, we are…much more likely to participate in the making of our own miracles.”   ~Paul Pearsall, Ph.D, Author of Making Miracles

Part Three: Secrets To Finding Bliss As We Set And Keep Our Resolutions And Intentions For The New Year…

January 21, 2010 · Filed Under The Power of Intention · Comment

Life being what it is, you will at some point begin to notice that you may not be feeling as excited about your New Year’s resolutions and intentions as you initially were. Life happens. You will notice that your attention may feel as though it is disconnecting from your intention. Be prepared to anticipate such moments. This is where it helps to practice your ABC’s, something I created many years ago to help my patients heal themselves.

First, do A. Be aware of how you are feeling and what you are thinking! It is time to question Mind before it really does a job on you. Mind is what it is. Our job is, when we are not feeling good at our heart level, to question it!  Ask yourself, “How am I feeling and what am I thinking?” Given that you will probably be in a beat-yourself-up mode, due to being pulled away by the events of life, your thoughts may be, I can’t do this. I am failing at my resolutions. I don’t do anything right!”

Then, do B, once again.  Breathe! And as you breathe deeply, intentionally quiet yourself with each breath and go within. Once there, ask yourself: “How do I know that’s not so?” (I made it rhyme for young and old!) Now, in your stillness, ask your intuitive, meditative self for three proofs from your life experience when you were challenged and you thought you could not do something difficult, but you proved to yourself you could!

With your proofs in hand, do C which is choose another feel good image, picture or thought you can play or say to yourself that reconnects you with your intention. For example, “Of course, if I could accomplish the impossible in the past, I can do this now!” See yourself doing what you intended to do, be it volunteering, interacting with people as you start a new business. balancing your budget, eating healthier, looking slimmer -  you get the picture! Remember, everything is energy and, therefore, to feel good and accomplish your goal, you need to focus on a feel-good image or experience.

Finally, I highly recommend a journaling technique to accompany you in the process of fulfilling your intentions. I borrowed this from Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen who borrowed it from her friend who is an anthropologist. It is amazingly powerful and transformative because it is based on your own intuitive wisdom!

At the end of each day, set aside fifteen minutes. In a quiet place, take a few minutes to breathe deeply and create stillness. In your journal, begin to question your intuitive mind and write the first question: What surprised me today? Put your pen down; breathe deeply, go into the stillness and wait to receive images or words from your Higher Intuitive Wisdom and then write a few lines as an answer. Then write the second question: What moved or touched me today? Again, do the same process. Finally, write the last question and do the same thing: What inspired me today?

Extraordinary awareness, experiences and transformative growth emerge as the result of engaging in this exercise. The simple acts of choosing to breathe deeply, create stillness and question your intuitive mind allow you to receive the imaginative pictures and words to discover who you really are and what really matters to you, as well as to come to love yourself unconditionally (without judgment or criticism).

Fulfilling your intentions and New Year’s resolutions is not what this journey is about. Rather, this is a journey of you discovering you, how powerful you are and of you coming to love yourself unconditionally. This is a process which has the power to transform you as it fills you with peace and enables you to fulfill your intentions.  Creating peace in the New Year begins with self-transformation. Now this is what miracle-making is all about!

Part Two: Secrets to Finding Bliss & Making Miracles as We Create and Manifest Our Intentions

January 10, 2010 · Filed Under The Power of Intention · Comment

Why do we set intentions or make New Year’s resolutions? I am convinced that it is especially during the holidays that we realize we are out of balance, not whole and not feeling any true sense of inner peace. We wish one another a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year because we intuitively know that we are not feeling whole, though we desire and need to be. The word healthy contains within it the word heal. To heal is about creating balance, well-being and wholeness. So, our intentions are born out of our awareness of what we lack and need in order to feel better and happier.

Besides being aware of and harnessing the gifts of Imagination, Intuition and Breath, keep in mind that the secret to making miracles and manifesting your heart’s desires or creating an intention (what you are most passionate about and lacking in your life) is being aware and remembering that EVERYTHING IS ENERGY! Quantum Physicists, including Albert Einstein, emphasize this point, along with the fact that all energy vibrates at different levels. This includes you, your thoughts, intentions and all that you picture, visualize and see in your mind’s eye!

The way I help my patients heal themselves and create miracles of healing is to enable them to recognize that there is energy that feels good and energy that does not. Healing and feeling good require that we focus our attention on anything that feels good and makes our heart sing. Translation: when we picture, think or intend something delicious, upbeat, loving and joyful, we feel like we are on “cloud nine.” We vibrate at a high level – the same high level where our hopes and dreams live. This is good because it helps our brain release endorphins which our body loves and because it shifts us, energetically, to a vibrationally higher place. (Be careful because the opposite is also true!)

Therefore, when you set your intentions, pick something to focus on (a thought, picture or image) that every time you visualize and feel yourself experiencing, you feel fabulous!  If you are eager to lose weight, see and feel yourself exercising, shedding pounds and feeling the joy of becoming your intention. If you intend to stop smoking, see and feel yourself living joyfully and with great freedom, not needing a cigarette to be okay. This will create the high energy you need to manifest your intentions.

In other words, your job is to engage in activities in which you have invested your hopes, dreams and high energy of excitement and enthusiasm.  Tennessee Williams reinforced this when he said: “Enthusiasm is the most important thing in life!” Your work is also to focus on a positive and enthusiastic see-feel experience regarding your intention.

Additionally, it helps to write out your intention daily, in a journal. As you write your intention, image you experiencing what you are write. Feel genuinely enthused and excited about it. Allow your senses to be a part of your “see-feel” experience. This is you doing an internal dance of joy which leads to the fulfillment of your intentions.

Create a community with which you can share your intention and the progress you are making regarding manifesting it. Just one other person is all you need to have some support for you.

If you do not accomplish something you had intended for the day, notice your feeling and thought; feel the feeling and then let it go. Love yourself enough to know that you are doing your best. Stuff happens and gets in our way. Say to yourself, “I am doing my best.” Take a deep breath or two and breathe out any toxic feelings, and return to the moment with the see-feel experience of you accomplishing your intention. In other words, get right back on the horse and continue with your intention.

We make miracles simply by opening our heart to the possibility of possibilities and changing our perspective about our situation. Even Albert Einstein validated this with his words: “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it!” Changing your perspective and incorporating some form of unconditional love – for yourself in this case- leads to the occurrence of what you are hoping for and seeking.

A change in perspective is as simple as choosing to love yourself enough so that you see a difficult situation as a challenge and a lesson. For example, when I experience an unexpected problem or disappointment that seems to be interfering with an intention, I say to myself (regularly, after really feeling the emotion of disappointment), “What is the lesson here for me? What am I supposed to be learning here that can help me on some level?” Just choosing to step back and observe me asking myself these questions and recognizing that this is a challenge which is helping me grow, enables me to more easily reconnect with my intention.

Remember Oprah Winfrey’ words, “Every day brings a chance to start over.” There is always a new dawn and a new day to begin again. So, never, never beat yourself up. Love yourself dearly.

Furthermore, each day, create and engage in an activity which is related to the fulfillment of your intended goal. And, be sure to focus on this activity with anticipated excitement and joy; see it in your mind’s eye leading you to accomplish your intention. This keeps you connected to fulfillment of your intentions.

Helping Those Who Can Not Help Themeselves: The Healing Power of Prayer

“Should you pray? If you need to ask, you’ve probably begun.” Larry Dossey, MD

One of the most powerful ways we can live our lives with a deep sense of satisfaction and peace is to give purely, via prayer, from our heart, to individuals who are in dire need of our assistance, including those who are dealing with grief, trauma and loss.

Within recent weeks and months, we have learned of the loss of many thousands of people in Myanmar, due to massive storm and flooding this area has experienced. In China, thousands have lost their lives due to a horrific earthquake. Getting help to these individuals who are trapped, injured, lost and traumatized has been almost impossible, especially for those in the area of Myanmar.

Additionally, many thousands of people in the United States are undergoing horrific losses as raging flood waters have washed away their homes and flooded major cities in the Midwestern part of the United States, causing people to have neither homes, schools or businesses. This kind of devastation on such a large scale has not ever before been witnessed or experienced by American citizens in modern times. – other than 9/11.

Despite the efforts of the Red Cross and others throughout the world, people in other countries are not receiving assistance and thousands of people of all ages are dying. In the United States, the Red Cross and others are doing their best to assist the large numbers of people who are faced with having nowhere to go. You can do something, something very powerful to help these people. You can pray.

I have been researching Mind and Consciousness for many years, including research on prayer and healing. According to a group of quantum physicists, including Albert Einstein, everything in the Universe is energy and vibrates; furthermore, love is one of the highest and most powerful healing energetic vibrations.

Additionally, according to Einstein and his colleagues, your mind has the capacity to connect with and even influence minds anywhere, across time and space. Prayer is the vehicle of the intention of sending love to those in need of such high healing energy.

Welcome To Our Blog, LOVE TO FEEL GOOD!

Whether you are a mom, senior citizen, student in high school, college or graduate school, a CEO, teacher, physician, lawyer, printer, or a member of any occupation, the intention behind the creation of this blog is that you have a place to come which feels very comfortable, almost like a home away from home, and where I can offer you food for your soul.

LOVE TO FEEL GOOD is also intended to be a place where we can share with one another thoughts centering on how to help you, and one another, to really be able to “LOVE TO FEEL GOOD.” Expect this to be a wonderful and joyful give and take process of growth and expansion. I am extremely excited about sharing this time with each of you.

LET ME BRIEFLY INTRODUCE MYSELF!

My name is Susan Barbara Apollon and I am an intuitive psychologist in practice for more than 20 years and a researcher of Mind, Consciousness, Energy, Healing, Intuition, Prayer and Life After Life. I am a Master of Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy and have certification in Reconnective Healing, as well. I have studied other energy modalities and have been a student of intuition for more than a decade.

I am also a wife, married to my husband for more than 42 years, with two very special and wonderful adult children.
The last third of my life has been devoted to helping others heal from grief, trauma and illness, via my clinical practice and my writing, which includes Touched by the Extraordinary and, soon, Intuition is Easy and Fun, which is coauthored with Yanni Maniates. My work is, essentially, about providing all of us with empowerment, hope and comfort.

HOW THIS BLOG CAME TO BE…

LOVE TO FEEL GOOD has been born out of an online free class I first presented in January, 2008, entitled, YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL – HERE’S HOW! (at www.freetelemessages.com) During the interactive period of the class, I suddenly felt it would be excellent for all of us, including those who chose to participate in the class, myself and others who are yet to come on board, to have a blog where like-minded souls could come and share thoughts, inspirations, feelings, what has been tried and worked (or not) and recommendations.

When our first free teleclass, YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL – HERE’S HOW had ended, I received positive feedback from participants who expressed that the time we spent together did contribute to feeling an improvement in their mood. This was, in part, due to the super ideas and contributions of those on the call. We were being motivated and inspired by one another’s words and suggestions. The response to the possibility of a blog, which I had mentioned when I thought of the idea, was so positive that I felt it could serve all of us.

ABOUT “FEELING GOOD”…

I wonder, how many of you love to receive articles, poems and stories from friends and family which touch your heart – and help you feel really good – and which come at especially trying and difficult times in your life? Most of us do appreciate words of wisdom which inspire, motivate and provide us with needed hope – whether we are having a tough day or not. Furthermore, no matter what age we may be, “feeling good” is what each of us desires from the time we awake to the time we retire for the day.

So, what is “feeling good,” you may be wondering. Simply put, feeling good means we are at peace within; we are content; we are feeling some joy, happiness and/or satisfaction. Are you aware that feeling good is your birthright? You came into this lifetime with the intention of ultimately doing the work of balancing the energy of your life and your soul and creating your birthright of feeling good.

THE PLAN….

In the days, weeks and months ahead, my intention is to bring you some of the knowledge, wisdom and ideas I have gained from more than two decades of research, clinical practice and life experience, to enable you to live your life from a “Feel-Good” place. And, I am looking forward to your sharing your thoughts, feelings, extraordinary life events and exquisite, uplifting energy, so that we all experience an improved quality of life.

This is also going to be a place where we can share quotes that are so meaningful that they are heartwarming, as well as poems and stories that touch us deeply. Additionally, this is going to be where we can recommend to one another resources which have the power to enable us to “feel good.”

Each of you is pure energy, given that everything in the universe is energy and vibrates. However, when you feel that “all is well with the world,” you are, on some level, experiencing a higher energy, closer to that of gratitude and love. My hope is that I can help you be more conscious of ways which will elevate your energy and which will enable you to experience more love, joy and peace. It is so much easier that most of you may realize.

Until we meet again, know that each of you is very special – and that I feel honored to be making this connection with you. May you each be blessed with all that you need to “feel good.”

Blessings of Warmth, Light and Love,

Susan BarbaraApollon
